Online Tools and databases

Find below a list of online tools developed within the SOTERIA project for real-time monitoring and prediction of space weather.

Online Tool Description Services
DCX data server The web-based Dcx server which has been constructed to provide new, global and local indices of magnetic storminess called Dxt and Dcx indices, at hourly resolution and with a good global coverage. Historical indices for 1932-2009 are provided that are based on the four Dst stations. We also provide historical indices for an extended network of 17 stations for 2000-2009. Provisional and real-time indices are available since 2010 for 14 stations. Query

Solar Spectral Irradiance Data reconstructed at LPC2E

The solar total and spectral irradiance are computed employing a neural network model. The input parameters are the fraction of the solar disk covered by bright and dark magnetic features on the solar surface, which are obtained from MDI/SOHO and HMI/SDO solar disk magnetograms and continuum images_tools. Flare Predictor by ROB

Flare probabilities are given for each Catania sunspot group on the basis of the McIntosh sunspot group classification scheme. PROBA2/SWAP and NOAA active region numbers are gien as additional context. Visualisation

Kanzelhöhe Data Archive

KODA (Kanzelhöhe Online Data Archive) is the public portal to access solar full disk observations from the Kanzelhöhe Solar Observatory (UNIGRAZ, Austria). KODA covers the entire archive of synoptic as well as high-cadence data observed in white-light, H-alpha and CaII-K. All data are up-to-date and are available from 01/1950 (sunspot drawings), 07/2007 (white-light), 05/1973 (H-alpha), and 07/2010 (CaII-K). Data download

SWAP and LYRA data archive PROBA2 is a small ESA spacecraft that carries four instruments for heliospheric physics. SWAP is an EUV imaging telescope with a passband centered on 17.4nm, that produces images_tools of coronal plasma at a temperature of approximately 1 million degrees. LYRA measures total solar irradiance at high cadence using three separate detectors each with four channels: Lyman-alpha, Herzberg continuum, the Aluminum filter channel and the Zirconium filter channel. CME arrivals: Drag-Based Model The interactive online forecast-tool for predicting the arrival of inter- planetary coronal mass ejections (ICMEs) at the Earth. Predictions are based on the "Drag-Based Model" (DBM), which relies on the assumption that the MHD drag, analogous to the aerodynamic drag, is the main force that governs the propagation of ICMEs in the interplanetary space. After specifying the input parameters the tool provides a prediction of the date/time of the ICME arrival, as well as its "impact speed". Calculate

SOHO/Debrecen sunspot data catalogue Production of new data reduced both from space-borne and ground-based solar photospheric observations with the aim to cover the entire SOHO-era with the most detailed data of sunspots, sunspot groups and photopheric faculae with an unprecedented temporal resolution (~1 hour). High spatial resolution ground-based images_tools and magnetograms used for completion and validation of the space-borne data as well as for extension of the databases backwards in time. DPD Data

IEEA Global Ionospheric Scintillation Model The Global Ionospheric Scintillation Model allows the user to obtain both mean errors and scintillations due to the propagation through ithe onosphere. This model has been accepted by International Telecommunications Union (ITU) as a reference code for scintillations evaluations. GISM Description
