For this we met with beneficiary HVAR at the Kanzelhöhe Observatory in Austria. Strategies how to tackle the issue on interplanetary propagation of the CMEs as well as their interaction were discussed. Special focus was laid on the seamless tracking of these CME events starting from the low corona. This will help to identify the source region of the CME events and further to analyze their low coronal signatures, like dimming regions together with beneficiary UCL. </ins>

For this model runs from different sources (NASA/CCMC, PredictiveScience) will be tested against in situ observations. </ins>

==== WP1- Management ====
We have completed the start-up procdeure and organised the Kick-Off meeting in collaboration with INAF, on the ground of INAF in Rome. Deliverable 1.1 and 1.2 are completed. Personnel has been identified from the existing staff and an additional opening has been posted and is open, with expected filling in September.

====WP4 - Exploring Space in Time====

====WP5 - Impact on Space Exploration====
Progress has been made in three directions.

First, we have setup and conducted the first simulations of the Moon environment with the ipic3D code (D5.4). The full scale simulations will require state of the art supercomputers with thousands of cores, but we have setup and tested the code on fewer cores for reduces parameters. The next step is to continue the run on larger computers with the full resolution and realistic parameters.

Second, the radiation exposure during a Mars (D5.2) and the Moon (D5.3) mission has been evaluated. We reviewed the known literature, extracted the most advanced and best performing methods and developed a matlab-based code to evaluate the dose during the Moon and Mars mission using input form statistical models and actual satellite data from ACE, GOES-13 and GOES-15. The migration of the code online will be the next step.

Third, the modelling capability of ipic3D to study the interaction of a satellite with its environment has been tested for the specific case of Solar Probe (D5.7). We obtained complete simulations for it, illustrating its charging and the wake created in the solar wind. This work is done in collaboration with several EU and USA teams expert on spacecraft modelling.

====WP6 - Dissemination====
During the KO meeting the discussion has been started on the location and content of the space exploration workshop and school (D6.4). The web page and wiki are fully operational (D6.5).
