Status of Deliverables due in June
- D6.3 : VO - Progess ongoing but it is a open-ended effort. The report will be prepared as a description of the current status, explaining its open-ended nature.
- D6.4 and 6.4 are delayed by 3-4 months due to the delay in launch of Proba2 and the calibration of Lyra. However, the progress is ongoing and the reports will be ready definitely before November
Next Newsletter
- Will be done in early september and will include a summary of the status and planned delivery date of the 3 deliverables above.
- An update online on the wiki of the publications will be done at every newsletter.
- Thierry communicates the acceptance of a paper by Matthieu Kretzschmar in Nature Physics, a great achievement for Soteria.
Continuation of Soteria
The SB and the beneficiaries that have responded so far are enthusiastically supporting the idea of trying to continue the collaboration of Soteria in new forms adapted to the upcoming calls on space science and on infrastructures that are coming up in July and in the fall, respectively. The new calls will be circulated as they come out and an internal discussion and preparation will be started as soon as the calls are out.
Preparation of annual meeting
- A new format of presentation focusing not so much on presenting new scientific results but on presenting the need for collaborations and the perspective for integration of Soteria activities will be promoted.
- No single beneficiary talks will be presented in Debrecen, only talks reporting work from at least two beneficiaries in collaboration.
- One session will be organised on the new FP7 projects that have been successfully proposed by Soteria members. We will obtain first an inventory in September and then ask the involved beneficiaries to present their new networks.
- Andras asks if extra WP workshops are desired, so that he can arrange for the rooms after the General meeting. The attending WP leaders present their plans for other WP internal discussions and decline the offer for a WP workshop in Debrecen. Andras will contact the wP leaders not in attendance (Bothmer and Vennerstrom).
