Review of WP accomplishments given by the WP leaders

Discussion:

  • Volker suggests that each WP leader sends a description of the preferred formats/ dimensions/ softwares for extraction for the data to be committed into the general SOTERIA repository
  • Susanne suggets to organize a sub-meeting to collect data and ideas about the models to use for deliverable 4.6 -> the submeeting will take place Wednesday at 11.20
  • Thierry proposes to put all the links to the developed tools in a bigger frame (e.g. a well known space weather website) for visibility
  • Giovanni proposes to write a paper for Space Weather Space Climate based on the model validation activities for deliverable 4.6
  • Discussion about the organization of a Solar Week to raise awareness on space weather related issues. Many suggestions are made:
    • a press release in different languages should be relased to the national press of the different countries
    • the headlines of the press release should draw attention on big scale issues (e.g. EU involvement, possible catastrophic effects of solar activity) rather than on more technical aspects (e.g. the name of the network,...)
    • the choice of the week should be done without conflicting with national activities (e.g. national science weeks) or other awareness raising events.
    • Propositions: find some notable anniversary or have the Solar Week concomitantly with the European Space Weather Week. The issue is left open, a first draft for the press release will be written
  • Review of SODA activity: data from more sources need to be put into the SODA framework, also as a proof of integration efforts inside the consortium. The format and data description should be, as far as possible, integrated
