Goal

The main objective is to provide SOTERIA partners with support on data assimilation techniques in order to contribute to space weather modelling and forecasting. This main objective will be reach by: - reporting on data assimilation techniques (report / seminar), - providing “on the shelf” assimilation tools, - tentative test in a model with data assimilation prototyping.

Progress so far

Currently the main task consists to coordinate interactions between NOVELTIS and partners interested by data assimilation. This coordination is very important because of the need to identify a space weather model and motivated partners in order to focus efforts for the tentative test of prototyping.

At this step, first interactions were achieved with KULeuven on the study of data assimilation methods aimed at constraining and validating models of coronal mass ejections using magnetometers data and input from the ACE satellite.
