Prediction of Ionospheric Scintillations

As agreed between the different partners a number of events have been selected. Two of them were in december 2006.

In order to investigate the relationship between ionosphere scintillations and other parameters, in particular the magnetic activity, we have started a detailed study of the scintillation activity at low latitudes using recorded data during december 2006 month.

The dynamic of ionosphere is also a parameter of interest. It has been shown in some cases that there is a strong correlation between the occurrence of scintillations and large values of the electronic density gradients. This point of ionosphere variability could be addressed equally by Noveltis.

No major difficulties are foreseen for this activity.
