Goal

The objective of milestone M3.2 is to summarise the advances achieved in the modelling of solar flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs).

Progress so far

The WP3 teams are currently establishing a list of flares and CME events based on space- and ground-based observations for which detailed multi-wavelength analyses of the pre-eruption, initiation and post-eruption phases are carried out. The observational results serve as input to improve the developed theoretical models and simulations for flare and CME onsets and their subsequent effects near the Sun and in the heliosphere. Project status is 50% (event selection, analysis, modelling, simulations).
