Goal

Start of the publication of high resolution NaD1 magnetograms.

Progress so far:

Dopplergrams together with line of sight magnetic fields are available for NaD1 line for small field of views (30 arcsec x 2 arcmin) using the 2D spectro imagery Multichannel Substractive Double Pass (MSDP) optical layout installed this summer at the Meudon Solar Tower. Stokes V measurements provided by the LCVR (Liquid Cristal Variance retarder) device has been successfully tested on new active region (AR 1026 the 25th of September). Efforts are in progress to deliver large field of view to envision extrapolation of the magnetic field.

Problem areas

The milestone is not complete, it is rescheduled for 2010. Some instrumental problems caused a delay of the high resolution magnetograms, so we have to shift the milestone of the start to the 20th month. A new mechanical system is under construction and has to be computer controlled to obtain large field of view. The instrumental part will be probably operative in six months, but the development of the automatic process of data for the extrapolation work also needs some time. The progress percentage is 50% at present.
