Goal
The main objective is to set-up an online database of solar features and events through which the data itself can be queried.
Progress so far
UNIGRAZ
During the reporting period we prepared and upgraded the Kanzelhöhe computational infrastructure with respect to the SOTERIA goal of providing Kanzelhöhe data in an online and searchable solar data archive.
In particular, we conducted the following items:
- Upgrade from Solaris 9 to Solaris 10 on SUN machines
- Upgrade of FTP server, name server and other networking services
- Upgrade and configuration of our webservers (Apache 2.2) as a pre-requirement for the development of a PHP and datatbase-driven website
- Installation and configuration/administration of a webserver-scripting language (PHP 5) and the data base server (MySQL 5) on SUN machines
- Discussion and preparation of the Data Base Layout of our planned online solar archive.
- Discussing the advantages and disadvantages of two different data access methods to the online solar archive (URL-based and TAR-ball).

ROB
Contacts with the HELIO consortium (successor of EGSO, led by B. Bentley) have established that a feature/event catalogue will become part of the HELIO infrastructure (see e.g. the Solar Event Catalogue of EGSO). Further discussions with the HELIO team (first at ESWW6) will point out whether we can use join forces.
