Due Date: Month 12 (Nov 2009)

Contents

Goal

The main objective is to make all data of the SOTERIA partners available to the consortium, and to the space weather community as a whole, via a Virtual Observatory technology.

Progress so far

ROB

  • Benoit Callebaut (ROB) has developed a SOAP interface to serve the data from its ground-based USET telescopes via the VSO.
Compliance tests in collaboration with the VSO project is in progress. The VSO provider for USET data will be made public when the provider service (SOAP interface) is compliant with the VSO infrastructure. The list of VSO providers is maintained by the VSO project.
  • Benoit Callebaut (ROB) is developing a VSO-like server node for redundancy and independence from the US-based VSO node.

OBSPARIS

  • Jean Abourdarham reported that the BASS2000 data archive is VSO compatible

SRC-PAS

  • Szymon Gburek (SRC-PAS) is in technical discussion with Benoit Callebaut (ROB) for the distribution of SphinX data via the VSO.

Problem areas

This work has had a slow start-up due to the delay in the production and release of the [Virtual Observatory Action Plan] (D6.2).

Suggestions for spin-off, collaboration or improvement

We expect that the VO action plan will be fully ready in the second half of November. Following that, we plan an accelerated deployment in the months afterwards. The total delay for this deliverable should therefore be less than 4 months and have no further implications for the rest of SOTERIA.
